Somebody loves the spotlight!
One of the stars of China's Giant Panda Research Base got a lift Sunday from a staffer at the research and breeding facility, which is anticipating an influx of visitors during China's annual dragon boat festival tradition.
The cub may one day engage in panda diplomacy and get loaned to a foreign zoo as a diplomatic gift. There are only about 1,600 giant pandas that live in the wild in China, and breeding programs such as this one are a way to sustain the species.
