Once again, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is calling Mother Monster out for what it describes as monster-like behavior – toward animals. The animal rights organization is giving a thumbs-down to a white fox fur scarf Lady Gaga wore last Thursday, about a month after sending her a letter denouncing her other fur ensembles. –E! News

A dog died last week after pulling its reportedly drunk, suicidal owner away from train tracks in Kazakhstan. The animal was killed instantaneously when the train ran over its hind paws; the canine's owner sustained two fractured ribs and a shoulder injury. –Russian International News Agency

A man allegedly trying to smuggle a monkey onto a plane in New Delhi was arrested after customs officials caught him trying to board a flight to Dubai. The 7-in. primate was discovered in his underwear. –Sky News

The alleged dog abuser caught on video kicking and hitting his dog inside a Harlem, N.Y., housing project was arrested Monday. Police took the suspect into custody at Manhattan Criminal Court, where he was due to make an appearance for marijuana possession. – New York Daily News
