On a day when the world was celebrating animals, Gisele Bündchen was paying tribute to one of her own.
"My best friend, she will always live on in my heart," the model wrote on her Facebook page Thursday, which was World Animal Day. "Let's never take for granted the unconditional love that our animals show us every single day."
Vida died last year; she would have been at least 13 years old.
Bündchen, who is expecting her second child with New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, brought Vida home in the late 90s, and the Yorkie held one of the top spot in her supermodel mom's heart.
"She has a higher place in that house than I do," Brady said in 2009, according to the Boston Herald. "If anything happened to that dog, I may as well jump in the Charles and not come up for air!"
Vida frequently traveled with Bündchen and Brady, usually in the model's arms. The couple have another dog, a pit bull named Lua.
