The Humane Society encourages pet owners affected by Hurricane Sandy to prep for their furry friends, too. Among their tips: Store at least three days worth of extra food and water for your animals, and make sure they're wearing identification collars. –Washington Post

Two Georgia pet lovers are hoping a vest will change the quality of life for visually-impaired dogs. The "halo vest," which costs between $35 and $65, helps prevent the animals from banging into the objects they cannot see. –Fox News
