To kick off the holiday season at the White House on Wednesday, First Lady Michelle Obama brought along a very special helper: Bo.
The Portuguese Water Dog helped his Mom unveil the Christmas decor that will deck the halls of the Washington, D.C., manor this season and he’s even featured prominently in the estate’s adornments.
In the East Garden Room, which was decorated with children in mind, a life-size replica of Bo greets visitors, and “Bo-flakes” hang from the trees. Forty such ornaments are scattered throughout the White House, and an edible Bo also stands guard in front of the gingerbread house located in the State Dining Room.
“Bo is kind of big, don’t you think?” Mrs. Obama joked in her remarks. “That basically represents Bo’s standing in the house. He is almost as big as the house. He is such a huge personality.”
The First Dog even helped inspect the decorations prior to their unveiling. Check out his tour below:
