Girls star and creator Lena Dunham marked the show's second-season premiere by rescuing a dog from New York-based animal shelter BARC. "He's just 12 pounds of weirdness,” she said. "His name's Lamby. He comes up to just below my knee, and I have a feeling we're going to have a great life together." –Vanity Fair

Jeremy and Kathryn Medlen went to reclaim their missing dog from an animal shelter when they learned he had been mistakenly put down, and sued the worker for damages. She ain't 'lion': Tracy Westwood's cat, Merlin, has a 100-decibel purr, as loud as a lion, a tractor, a pneumatic drill, a classroom full of children and a car horn from 25-feet away.
