June is Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat month
and it's our mission to help felines everywhere find a place to call home. Today, we'd like you to meet Luke, a former stray who loves to play.
This orange tabby, who was taken in by the Washington County/Johnson City Animal Control Center
of Johnson City, Tenn., in May, has a sweet disposition that draws people to him. "He's very friendly, really calm, and loves to play," says shelter employee Jessica Maymard. "He likes to cuddle and never squirms away from you."
Having never met a cat he didn't like, this ginger kitty would be a great second addition to a feline-filled household.
"He loves to play with the other cats," says Maymard. "He's pretty mellow and goes with the flow."
But Luke's real love is for humans. Scratch him behind his ears, and he'll love you forever. Adopt him, and he'll cuddle in your lap every night.
If you think Luke is the furball you've been looking for, contact the Washington County/Johnson City Animal Control Center

Adopting a pet is an amazing experience – and a big decision! Before bringing a pet into your home it's important to consider your family circumstances and do your research on breeds.
