Time to think pink!
The Taipei Zoo announced this weekend that its female giant panda, Yuan Yuan, gave birth to a baby girl on July 6. The teeny, tiny gal – who weighs less than half a pound! – is being bottle fed mother’s milk and carefully cared for in an incubator.
Though she’s only hours old, this pink-and-white ball of fluff is already a girl who knows what she wants. The zoo told Focus Taiwan news channel that the newborn cries whenever she is hungry or needs to poop – both signs that she is healthy. The cub is the first for Yuan Yuan and dad Tuan Tuan, who were given to the zoo by China in 2008.
