There's no denying that, as this picture illustrates, canine brothers Jeffrey and Jermaine are inseparable – and not just because they adore each other.
Jeffrey is blind and his brother, Jermaine, is his loyal guide dog. The 8-month-old pups were found on the streets of Philadelphia in October, according to Operation Ava, the animal rescue that is trying to find them a permanent home together.
"The unconditional love and devotion these two dogs show is positively inspirational," reads a post from the Chester County SPCA, which shared the photo on Facebook Nov. 15. (The photo subsequently received more than 34,000 likes – and counting!)
As the image continues to melt the hearts of animal lovers everywhere, applications for adoption are flooding in to Operation Ava, which is currently doing background checks on their most promising applicants (the deadline to apply is Nov. 19 at 5pm ET).
There may also be hope for Jeffrey's vision loss, which the shelter believes is the result of a congenital condition.
"We are very excited to hear that there may be an opportunity for Jeffrey to receive an evaluation from an eye surgeon in Va. – we will keep everyone posted," reads a message on the shelter's Facebook page. "We are also grateful for everyone's kind thoughts and concerns about these dogs – it is heartwarming to see the amount of care people have for two of our favorite residents."
