Home. Some pets never have one to call their own. We'd like to help change that by introducing you to an extraordinary adoptable pet every week. Today, meet Expo and Impo, two cottontail cuties that are every bit as adorable as any dog or cat.
These fluffy brothers were rescued from a neglectful home by the Gainesville Rabbit Rescue
. Caged for most of their lives, the Holland lop/lionhead mixes were fed bread and other inappropriate human foods by their previous owner. Expo, the more extroverted of the pair, was given this name because he likes to explore his surroundings, while Impo (left) is slightly more introverted than his sibling but would still make a great pet.
"They are very sweet, loving and as with most of our rescued bunnies, they are litter trained," says spokeswoman Faith Bolton, who adds that they do have some hearing loss.
But before bringing some-bunny
home this Easter, it's important to note the kind of care these rabbits will need. Says Bolton, "They are a 10+ year commitment just like a cat or dog."
If Expo and Impo seem like the perfect pets for you, contact the Gainesville Rabbit Rescue at (352) 528-5591, or visit the organization's site
