Adopt Me! Easygoing Casey Will Go the Extra Mile for You

Casey has been through a lot in his short life. A volunteer with Desert Paws of Pena Blanca, New Mexico, spotted the pup dragging himself around at just 9 weeks old with broken back legs. It's presumed the poor guy was hit by a car. Despite his situation, the loving pup was upbeat and seemingly thankful to have been rescued.
A group of volunteers and supporters quickly rallied around the dog and raised enough funds to cover his medical needs. A local vet performed surgery and he has been recovering at the home of his foster mom, Linda, the good Samaritan who originally saved him.
"It was not an easy task to keep such a young pup confined for 8 weeks, but Casey was a real trooper, waiting patiently for the day when his cast would be removed," says Krystyn Bleda, co-founder of the rescue, who adds that many volunteers helped with transportation, fundraising and transforming Casey's confinement period into something more enjoyable.
The canine's foster mom really went the extra mile by converting her hot tub into a hydro-therapy pool where Casey could do his daily physical therapy sessions. Now that the 25-lb. pup is healthy, he's more than ready for his forever home. He is neutered, house trained, vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped. His back legs still need time to build up muscle and balance out, but he is gaining strength and coordination and now even takes a daily long walk.
"Casey is one in a million and will be a terrific family pet for the right family," says Bleda. "He is good-natured, well-mannered and easygoing!"
