Hero Cat, meet Stoner Cat.

A New Zealand woman was shocked on Sunday when she discovered her beloved pet was celebrating 4-tabby: The cat had left her a small bag of marijuana right outside her front door.

Whether the pot-friendly pet was attempting a delivery gone wrong or merely attempting to share its stash is unclear, but either way its efforts were in vain: The cat's owner says she called police immediately upon finding the drugs.

Which is a shame; it could have been the purr-fect crime.

"You hear of cats bringing dead birds and rats home but certainly in my career I've never seen anything like this before," Halfway Bush police sergeant Reece Munro told High Times.

The bag in question contained .2 oz. of marijuana, valued at slightly more than $100 in the US.

Police are unsure of the marijuana's origin, but say they will fingerprint the bag to see who else's paws were on it.
