Pit bull mixes Manny, Troy and ShyAsia

Home. Some pets never have one to call their own. We'd like to help change that by introducing you to an extraordinary adoptable pet every week. Today, meet three: Manny, Troy and ShyAsia, 3-month-old pit bull mixes who were recently rescued from a neglectful home.
It's incredibly sad to think that the mother of these precious babies was, and still is, tied up on a chain outside her owner's house and has not been spayed. When she became pregnant several months ago, her owner didn't want anything to do with the puppies; they were tossed outside to die without food or water, says the Eleventh Hour Rescue
of Rockaway, New Jersey.
Another local rescue heard of the dogs' plight and sought help from EHR. They rescued the puppies and an attempt was made to save their mom, too, but that was, heartbreakingly, unsuccessful – her owner refused to give her up. As sad as that is, these three – dubbed the "Chain Gang" by EHR – are now happy as can be and ready to be adopted into loving homes.
"Troy had it the roughest," says their foster mother, Jeanette Campbell. "He coughed up chicken bones at first … [we were] not even sure he was going to make it, he was in such bad shape. Since then, they have all become healthy and very playful and even Troy likes to watch what the others do and join in the fun."
Like all pups their age, this trio is bursting with energy. "Manny is very outgoing and the largest of the litter. He just plays all day long with toys and the other dogs in the house," Campbell adds. "ShyAsia, the girl, is a little shy at first, but warms up quickly. She is the best in the gang when it comes to giving kisses."
