Thanks to some furry models, the Washington Humane Society raises more than $321,000

Model-actress Courtney Caldwell takes a gamble, toting her Yorkie down the runway in a dicey ensemble on Saturday. Models in the show are a mix of local celebs and donors.
Think those boots come in dog sizes? A pup works his way down the runway in some very glam gear, courtesy of local retailers Barkley Square Gourmet Dog Bakery & Boutique and WagTime.
Jeff Lutton, of Virginia’s Dogtopia daycare center, strikes a pose with his prettified pooch. Humans sported sleek fashions from chic shops at Tysons Galleria shopping center.
A lovable pup – sporting a sweet flower – hits the catwalk with a human model. Held at the Italian Embassy, the annual event generally draws nearly 1,000 guests.
It’s gonna be okay! April Jones Firoozabadi – a donor model who had to raise at least $3,000 to participate – comforts beagle Molly backstage before the big show. Check out those painted nails!

This gives new meaning to the phrase “doggie bag!” One fluffy pup lets the model do the work, hitching a free ride in a stylish purse.
That’s so her color! This lucky dog is dressed to the nines – and for a great cause. This year’s event has raised $321,468 for the Washington Humane Society so far, with another $14,070 on the way.
Watch the fur, please. A bejeweled pooch hops into a handbag Saturday. While the dogs featured in the show were pets, there were animals available for adoption on-site, too.
