REVIEW: Leave the Toys Out! Petprojekt's Witty Line Is Fun to See

As a pet owner, I usually have to scramble when pals come over to my apartment to hide the detritus of my pug -- gnawed-down ends of rawhide bones, fuzzy toys that look like I've been using them as dust mops, food bowls that look resolutely crusty no matter how many times they go through the dishwasher. But with Petprojekt's new line of cute toys and bowls, I don't mind leaving them out.

Not only is the packaging adorable -- I particularly love the "Dogmeat" series of realistic squeaky toys shaped like chops and fish in grocery-store packaging -- but the items inside are witty and charming, too. Bigger dogs might enjoy the Squeeki Tiki (above), shaped like those iconic Hawaiian totems, while smelly dogs can benefit from dog bone-shaped Fresh Fido Fragrance Charmz (offered in a variety of scents, including Ocean Breeze and Juicy Green Apple) that can hang on their collar.

My dog Sadie loves eating out of her Petprojekt Dogbol, which matches our modern apartment decor with its clear plastic, but I love the easy cleanup of having her kibble fall onto the matching non-slip Dogmat. And the prices are easy to digest: they range from $6 for the Charmz to $20 for a colorful Dogleesh.
